I am so excited for this year! I hope your family is too!!
This will be my seventh year of teaching. I started off my teaching career teaching 1st Grade, then went to Young Fives, and I am now in my favorite grade...Kindergarten! I love teaching Kindergarten because every child is excited to learn and I love seeing all students learn to become readers (or better readers)!
I went to the University of Michigan (Go Blue!) for my undergraduate degree and Grand Valley for my Masters in Early Childhood. I am currently back at Grand Valley working on a degree in Education Leadership.
I have been married for 2 years and my husband and I have 2 wonderful dogs, Vinny and Lou. The students will get to hear lots of stories about my "boys" and Vinny might even get to stop in for a visit at some point!
Over the summer, my husband and I spent a lot of time traveling. We visited Ireland and Scotland and a went to Maine and Boston. We love to travel and visit new places!
I have also been busy training for the Chicago Marathon which is in October! Here I am with my dad, brother, husband, and mom after the GR Half Marathon last October.
I also had the chance to run in the Grand Rapids Mud Run with some of the other great teachers from Knapp! Here are Mrs. Jachim, Mrs. VanDyke before the run:
And here is my husband and I after the run:
I am always up for an adventure! Luckily Kindergarten has a lot of adventures throughout the year!!
I am really looking forward to getting to know your child and your family this year! We are going to have a great year!!
